I was thinking of starting a new nation line, (at which point I woould probably buy a few more 

elite crew-members).

When I logged into my other captain I saw that my free exp or my credits did  not transfer over.

This prevented me from starting my new line.  You should consider changing this as it would make for better gameplay and generate more money for you!
