Players quitting battle early

As predicted, the idiotic reward system is bringing out the worst in some players. Several times I have seen a player on full health just quit the battle once the 2 minute mark is up. This is to be expected, as it maximises their reward earned for time spent.

Consider the following (t7 rewards with premium):

A - Epic battle, fight hard for 12 minutes and win - get 4500 xp.

B - Leecher battle, do some token damage, maybe cap a base - quit after 2 minutes - get 3000 xp.

Clearly scenario B gives much more xp over time, and as more and more players realise this they will start leeching. Do I even have to point out the poisonous effect this will have on the rest of the playerbase?

Suggested solution:

A: The really obvious one that is used in every other game out there: only give rewards once the battle is over. Scale reward properly according to players contribution and time spent in battle. Lock the relevant ship while battle continues.

B: Give 0 to players that deliberately quit. This won't really work, because players will just suicide on purpose.

C: Fix the reward formula so that only people alive at the end get full reward. Dying early should be penalised - this would stop people suicide rushing after 2 minutes.
