during a battle, if you shift+tab to see who's on your team and the opponent's team, I notice the flagship player usually has a yellow and Red icon near their name, showing they're flagship for the battle. Sometimes, I see a silver "M" medal looking thing above the players rank (the lieutenant rank or whatever you call it yellow and black thing). I'll put up a picture soon to show what I'm talking about. what I know about it is, it's definitely random, and definitely not a moderator player because 1 battle I had the same medal.
