Platoons and it's matchmaking

Hi all,

First off let me start with saying i was very happy to see platoons finaly make their return. But I was sceptical about it being released simulatniously with the steam release (alot can go wrong without proper testing).

Over the past days I have played multiple platoon battles but I must conclude its far from perfect:(.

Problems i have with the current system;

-    Over 50% of the battles are "reserve" battles. I understand you want everyone to find quick games, but dont give us instant queues into reserve battles, they are litterally the opposite of what makes this game fun. and result in a head to head rush to continue to the next game.

-    Once in a "normal" battle the system seems to prioritize equal number of ships over anything else. 1 cv must have an opposite cv. but the ship tier seems irrelevant. In a platoon with 2 Tier 8+ ships with got often matched with tier 4/5/6 variants of us making the battle unfair to start with.

Suggestions;

-    The reserve battles must be a last option, priority should be 100% normal battles. Id rather wait 3 minutes for a good battle than have 5 instant queues of reserve battles.

-    Normal battles should be balanced on some sort of value system per shiptype (ss/cv/others). For example; 1 CV IX should be attempted to be balanced by an equal value, 1 CV IX or maybe 2x CV V. If a perfect match cannot be found it should compensate the lower team with more ships of other classes eg. CV V + CL & DD.

-    The point above can result in 20 Vs 15 battles but these should be more balanced than the current battle, and will add more variation and strategy to the game. (smaller ships work together to kill the big ones)

So far for my post. I have always liked the nf series of games. But I hope adjustments will be made to keep this game interesting, im afraid if it all takes to long, and the steam community loses interest, the game will die out quickly.
