Question from new player

I want to know why as a heavy cruiser player am paying the same amount of credits and experience as a battleship, carrier and a submarine and even destroyers and light cruisers if they have a much higher killing potential than my heavy cruiser and can get more experience and credits per round?

Even a light cruiser and destroyer can out DPS a heavy cruiser and the heavy cruiser is supposed to counter them?
For instance (and I am only looking at final tier ships) the Japanese light cruiser does 18990 with its main weapon and 6944 with its secondary each firing every 5 seconds. That is a output of 25934 damage every 5 seconds. Plus the torpedo's that is 91752 damage extra. Now for instance the German heavy cruiser is 18990 every 11.5 seconds main and secondary is 9600 every 5 seconds. This means that the light cruiser has more than double the damage of a heavy cruiser, better accuracy, has a slimmer frame, has sonar and is 5 knots faster. And I would guess that they have a higher sight range too.

I hear some people say that you should cap bases but I would lose more credits and experience spending time capping than actually trying to do damage plus you have armored transport for that.

Others say you should support battleships but how can you support them if they have  further range than you and do triple the damage more?

I understand I might have made a mistake with the calcs or I am missing something but please let me know.
