A recent post from the developers says the login issues are because the accounts of it's users are because the individual user in each case does not have a synced account with Steam. This claim is hogwash to get's it's core primary users to sign up for a steam account a real gamer wouldn't stoop so low. We didn't need steam accounts to play NF1 and back in the day had some of the best of the best internet players of the time. Saddening the levels SDE gone to draw a player base.
