So unless the GMs already noticed and are somehow working on it, the new game modes do not seem to be working properly. The matchmaking system seems to always prioritize annihilation mode such that the other 2 modes are never selected. We tried having everyone pick Occupy mode and search for a battle at the same time to no avail. 
Maybe consider making all three modes "on" on default? The UI isn't exactly self-explanatory for new players.
