Switching to Manual controls for AA

I've been winning a lot of battles I shouldn't expect to in my CV because none of my enemies are bothering to fire AA. Or, if they do try, they can't hit my low-altitude planes because they're not far-clicking (auto) or firing at 3 degrees (manual).

The new NF2 has huge incentives for using manual control; you get a whopping 30% accuracy bonus which basically amounts to hitting 6/9 shells with the Iowa at 45 degrees as long as you do the work of predicting leads and the enemy exposes his broadside to yours.

A tip for people trying out manual for the first time: When planes are at minimum altitude, you can hit them with 2 degrees from afar, 3 at midrange, and 4 when they're close enough to take damage from your passive AAW. If you're being auto-dived by DBs, the go-to-angle is around 73 degrees (depending on the length of your ship) at the beginning of the dive, then fast-drop your angles with TDA while repeatedly shooting on gradual fire. If you don't know what kind of bombers are approaching, it's a good idea to idle your AA guns at around 19 degrees, so you can raise or drop them in either direction.

If your heart is set on auto, there are still ways to hit low-altitude planes: With DP guns, you can select HE rounds, click near your ship to get 3-4 degrees, then switch to AA just before you fire. With a BB or CA whose secondaries can only fire AA, you can fire low by clicking reaaaalllly far away from your ship - we're talking several screens away. So click far past the torpedo bombers you want to kill, and your guns should drop to a low enough angle.
