hi

i usually dont write to forums but this may be helpful.

i managed NF2 to run on linux, ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit, mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset
(sucessfully updated from launcher, logged in and completed the basic battle tutorial)

run all that from terminal:

first, the launcher uses internet explorer and will crash without it, install a old version:
WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32ie7 WINEARCH=win32 winetricks ie7
!! uncheck the option to include updates

then launch the downloaded setup with the ie7 wineprefix:
env WINEPREFIX="~/.wine32ie7" winearch=win32 wine C:\\windows\\command\\start.exe /Unix /<path to the downloaded file>/NavyFIELD_2.exe

adjust the shorctut or create one with the following link:
env WINEPREFIX="<absolute path to homedir>/.wine32ie7" wine C:\\windows\\command\\start.exe /Unix <absolute path to homedir>/.wine32ie7/dosdevices/c:/users/Public/Desktop/NAVYFIELD\ 2.lnk

first start: run NF2 three times:
1st: visual studio redistributable -> should work fine
2nd: directx -> cancel it
3rd: launch the game

note:
-replace the <path> with whatever is yours
-i had some trouble with relative paths on the last one and im too lazy to bother about it.
-im not an expert, i cannot answer any questions or provide support
