I simply won't spend that much time to upgrade ONE ship...especially when there isn't even a way to test drive the next ship.

200-300k is acceptable....but 1 MILLION.....no way...there are to many other games out there.

This game has been surpassed by other types of similar games.  World of tanks, warships, warthunder, etc.
